Contemporary art centre’s "Soviart" - 20 years
"Soviart"- is the first in Ukraine non-state organization in the sphere of fine art.

Having begun its exhibition activity in 1987 and legalized in 1988 "Soviart" realized impossible before it projects:

  • I Soviet-American exhibition of the contemporary art;
  • Photo exhibition "World Press Photo" (World photo competition);
  • Exhibition of young artists of the nonformal art "21 view";
  • Fundamental exhibition "Ukrainian art of the 60-80’ss"
  • Exhibition of Ukrainian and Denmark women-artists "Miss Art";
During the 10 years "Soviart" had carried out cultural program of Kyiv with the twin town Odence (Denmark) and these are the most intensive foreign cultural relations of the towns of Ukraine. Foreign contacts are developing.

In all in 20 years were realized 200 exhibitions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Simferopol, Lugansk, Tbilisi, Moscow, Tallinn, Dallas(USA), Magdeburg, Munich (German), Odence, Orchus, Copenhagen (Denmark), UAE.

"Soviart" continues to show the program of the National cultural values abroad.

In Denmark in 1993, together with the National historical and National art museums was shown exhibition "Gold of Scythians" and in 1996 – "Ukrainan classical avantgarde".

"Soviart’s" projects are represented by best in Ukraine art catalogues, there are more then 20 in collection.

With the participation of the "Soviart" in 1998-2000 was realized project "Art of Ukraine of the XX century" the biggest project in the history of fine art of Ukraine, accompanied by exclusive catalogue and 10 exhibition projects.

Experience of the "Soviart" gave possibilities to legalize legally, materialy and organizingly galleries movement of Ukraine. In 1995 was set up Art galleries Association of Ukraine, on accout of which 7 International Art festivals, they take the first place in the rating of the year’s events of the artistic life of Ukraine. 1996-2008 - "Soviart" is concentrated on the programs and projects Art galleries Association of Ukraine, acting as fundamental organization.

For 20 years in the projects of "Soviart" took part more than 500 Ukrainian and foreign artists, whom we thank for cooperation.

Ahead for the next years "Soviart" has huge projects:

  1. Presentation of Ukrainian contemporary artists in Internet
  2. Edition of the CD series "Encyclopaedia of the contemporary art of Ukraine"
  3. Edition of the journal "Gallery"
  4. Setting up of the Contemporary art museum
  5. Development of the galleries system in Ukraine.
