September 17, 2003 at the joint meeting of Initiative group of the "Museum of contemporary art" program and Artgalleries association of Ukraine came decision for creation of Museum of contemporary art.

The program of creation of the first in Ukraine Museum of contemporary art had decided August 17, 1999 with the purpose of creation of economic, social, art conditions for Museum activities. Main points of program had executed. It had prepared project of further development of exposition spaces of Museum of contemporary art.

Complete name of museum: Museum of contemporary art "Soviart".

Status: non-government.

Founders: Artgalleries association of Ukraine, members of initiative group (painters, curators, art-managers).

Location of Museum: Kyiv, Andriyivski uzviz, 22-а

Museum fund: more then 500 works of contemporary art.

At the meeting had confirmed:

• Statute of Museum, name, organization structure, museum fund.
• President of Museum of contemporary art "Soviart" had confirmed V. Khamatov.

It had prepared the project of Museum program for the 2003-2004 on the directions:

• exhibitions, projects, actions;
• educational programs;
• media-projects;
• international co-operation;
• development of infra-structure.

At the eve of joint meeting of Initiative group and Artgalleries association of Ukraine the group of collectors had concluded the agreement by participation in Museum fund of MCA "Soviart".

The operator of exhibition program of MCA had defined the Center for Contemporary art "Soviart".

The parts of infra-structure of MCA had included:

• exhibition spaces of CCA "Soviart";
• "Soviart" publishing house;
• editorial staffs of "Gallery";
• Artmediacenter;
• creative workshops, guest apartments;
• art-library;
• store-houses;
• art fund of CCA "Soviart", Artgalleries association, collectors.

At the meeting had marked active role of experts E. Dymshyts, A. Soloviov, A. Tytarenko, painters T. Silvashi, A. Kryvolap, A. Dubobik, V. Tsagolov in realization of MCA creation program. Had decided questions of summary program exhibition and of MCA "Soviart" catalogue preparation.
